Connect Confluence Cloud so wiki pages your team trusts become part of what Mention can learn from.

What gets synced

Mention lists wiki pages from your Confluence site. When a page is imported, its body is captured with HTML-style formatting so headings, lists, and basic layout stay meaningful—not just plain text.

How to connect

  1. In Mention, add Confluence as a source.
  2. Sign in with your Atlassian account when asked, and approve access to the Confluence site you want to connect.
  3. After connecting, review the listed pages and activate the ones Mention should use.

Things to know

  • This integration is aimed at Confluence Cloud sites tied to Atlassian accounts your admin can authorize.
  • You typically need read access to a page in Confluence for it to appear and be usable after connection.
  • Page locations in Mention follow the parent-page hierarchy from Confluence — how pages are nested under other pages. Space names are not part of the path.
  • Access rules apply per space and top-level page: every page nested under the same top-level page of a space is one scope you can restrict to chosen audiences. See Source access.

Sync behavior

Sites with the Mention Confluence app installed are kept current as edits happen. Atlassian sends the app a notification when a page is created, edited, moved, trashed, restored, deleted, archived, unarchived, or has its permissions changed, and Mention re-reads the page each time — usually within a few minutes, which is as fast as Atlassian delivers. A page that was trashed or that Mention can no longer read is removed on that same re-read.

A daily reconciliation sync runs behind the app as a safety net, so a missed notification costs you a day at worst, and a site without the app is on that daily sync alone. Use a manual refresh when you have published important updates and want Mention to pick them up sooner.

Installing the Mention Confluence app

Installing the app is optional and separate from connecting Confluence — the connection above is what reads your pages, and the app only tells Mention when to re-read one. It needs a Confluence site admin.

  1. Ask your Mention contact for the app's installation link. The app is distributed privately rather than listed on the Atlassian Marketplace, so searching for it there will not find it.
  2. Open it while signed in as a site admin, choose the Confluence site, and review the access it asks for. The app reads page summaries only — titles, locations, and version details — never page bodies.
  3. Approve the installation.
  4. Edit any page and check that Mention shows it as updated within a few minutes.

Install the app on each site you have connected. Uninstalling it at any time returns that site to the daily reconciliation sync alone; nothing Mention already learned is lost.

Activation limit

You can activate up to 2,000 Confluence pages per Confluence integration.
