Google Drive

Connect Google Drive so documents and, when available, Google Meet transcripts can inform Mention—useful when your source of truth lives in Drive or your meetings are captured there.

What gets synced

Drive files

  • You choose which files to include using the in-product file picker after you connect.
  • Google-native files (such as Google Docs and Google Sheets) are brought in as exported web-style documents so structure and text are usable.
  • Other file types are imported from Drive as files, using the formats Drive provides.

Google Meet transcripts

  • Recent meeting transcripts can appear in your source list when your Google account and Meet setup support them.
  • Transcripts are tied to meetings that have the right recording/transcription options enabled on the Google side.

Files you pick through the connection are typically ready to use right away in terms of being selected as sources (your admin can still control activation and usage in Mention).

How to connect

  1. Add Google Drive as a source in Mention.
  2. Sign in with the Google account that should access Drive (and Meet transcripts, if applicable), and approve the requested permissions.
  3. Use the file picker to select Drive files to include.
  4. Review Meet transcripts in the source list if your organization uses them, and activate what you want Mention to use.

Things to know

  • The Google account you use must be able to open a file in Drive for it to be a good candidate to import.
  • Meet transcripts depend on Google Meet settings and recording practices in your organization; not every meeting will produce a transcript row in Mention.
  • Calendar-related permissions support discovering recent transcript activity; exact time windows are managed in the product.

Sync behavior

Drive files and transcript entries are updated on a daily schedule. You can refresh manually after large uploads or important edits.

Activation limit

You can activate up to 2,000 items per Google Drive integration (each file or transcript counts toward that limit).
