Mobile Overview¶
Mention has a native mobile app for iOS and Android, built so members can keep reading when they are not at a desk and so admins can keep teaching Mention from anywhere. The mobile app uses the same account and the same content as the web app.
Lessons are not on mobile. The lesson player — the exercises, the grading, the review — is on the web app and through the MCP server only. Mobile keeps the reading experience: it shows your Audience's articles, and nothing you do on it moves your progress. See Reading on Mobile.
Who the mobile app is for¶
The mobile app is most useful for:
- Members who want to look something up in their Audience's articles from a phone, after finishing the lesson elsewhere.
- Admins who want to create an organization, complete first-time onboarding, ask Mention questions, and resolve flagged contradictions between meetings.
Ongoing Audience curation after onboarding continues to live on the web app, as does everything an Audience owner does — writing the table of contents, curating lessons, and reading adoption.
Sign in and first-time setup¶
Sign in with the same email and password you use on the web, or with Continue with Google — and, on iPhone, Continue with Apple. Creating a new account with email and password includes a Check your email step: Mention sends a verification code to the address you entered, and you type it in to continue. Your organization role (admin or member) and your per-Audience role (owner or learner) carry over from the web.
If you don't belong to an organization yet, the app walks you through creating one and completing essential onboarding on mobile: choose your industry, connect a source, choose assets, create and describe an audience, and write its first table of contents. Invited members skip that setup and enter their assigned audience. See Mobile Authentication and Onboarding.
Tap the avatar button in the top-right corner to open the profile menu, where you can sign out — and, if you belong to more than one organization, switch the active one. Switching organizations reloads the app with that organization's content and your role there.
What is in the app¶
Two surfaces are available after setup:
- Learn — the member reading experience: your Audience's contents, the article reader, and grounded Q&A. It does not include the lesson player. Opening the app drops you straight into the first Audience you belong to — there is no separate audience list screen. If you belong to more than one, tap the Audience's name in the header to switch: a sheet slides up listing every Audience you belong to, each with a badge showing your role in it (owner or learner). - Conflicts — every pending contradiction in your knowledge base, which only admins have. The tab shows a badge with the number of pending items. On the web, the same queue lives under Sources → Contradictions, which by default shows only the conflicts not routed to any Audience. Conflicts routed to an Audience owner are decided on the web, on that Audience's Questions tab — they are not on mobile. See Reviewing Contradictions and Reviewing Misunderstandings.
Admins get a bottom tab bar with exactly those two tabs, Learn and Conflicts. Members don't get a tab bar at all — the Learn experience is the whole app for them, since managing an Audience you own after initial onboarding happens on the web.
Learn and Conflicts use the same mobile layout system, with comfortable touch targets, consistent cards and controls, and matching light and dark appearances. Articles, question answers, loading states, and empty states follow the same visual structure as the main screens.
The Learn experience on mobile is deliberately narrow: a contents list and an article reader, nothing more. Despite the tab's name, learning itself happens on web or through a connected agent. See Reading on Mobile.
During onboarding processing you can opt into a local completion notification. The app does not send other push notifications outside of that setup flow today.

Lessons also run through the MCP server, so a connected agent on your phone is a way to make progress when the mobile app isn't.
Both apps read and write the same account, so a contradiction resolved on mobile is resolved on web too, and a lesson finished on web opens its article on mobile. The mobile screens fetch fresh data as you move through them — pull down on the contents to refresh if you're expecting something new.
