Mobile Authentication and Onboarding

New organization administrators can create a Mention organization and complete essential onboarding entirely in the mobile app. Invited members skip administrator setup and go straight into their assigned audience.

Sign in and sign up

Sign in with email and password, Continue with Google, or — on iPhone — Continue with Apple. After authentication, Mention routes you based on your account state:

  • No organization yet — create your organization in the app.
  • Organization admin who has not finished setup — resume onboarding at the correct stage.
  • Invited member — see a short welcome screen, then start learning in your assigned audience.

Administrator onboarding

Mobile onboarding follows the same essential stages as web:

  1. Choose Industry — pick Insurance, Software, or General so Mention can tailor the knowledge it curates. This can't be changed once your first audience is created.
  2. Connect Sources — search for Notion, Google Drive, Teams, or another supported source, then connect it through an in-app browser session. When the source finishes connecting, that session closes and you stay on the Connect Sources screen in the app. Connected sources collect below the search, so you can add more before choosing Continue. Continue appears after at least one source is connected.
  3. Choose Assets — pick which discovered documents Mention should read. Slack includes a channel-selection step first when needed.
  4. Create Audience — name and describe the audience, and optionally invite a teammate.
  5. Give the audience a table of contents — these are the lessons you want this audience to learn. Don't worry if you haven't connected the right source material for them yet: Mention will only surface these to learners once they have meaningful content. Add each article with a title and a prompt saying what it should cover. Remove one with ✕, and choose Finish setup once at least one article is listed.

Between choosing assets and creating an audience, Mention shows a Reading your content screen while documents are analyzed. You can:

  • Keep the app open and advance automatically when processing finishes.
  • Tap Notify me when ready to allow a local notification when analysis completes.
  • Use Continue anyway if processing stalls longer than usual.

If you background or close the app mid-setup, reopening resumes at the correct stage from server state — completed work is not lost. Article writing continues after setup, so you can start using Mention without waiting on it.

Invited members

Invited users authenticate, join the organization from their invitation, and land on a welcome screen that shows the organization and assigned audience. They never see organization creation, source connection, or audience setup. Tap Start learning to open Learn.
